Biography
Been a Ham operator since 1949. Started with home brew 807's driving 4D32's on 75 meters. Receiver National HRO 50. Mostly A3 emission. Licensed as W0ALV.
Spent 12 years in Coast Guard as a Radioman. Communications, CW, with commercial/Naval shipping. Got pretty good with a Vibroplex. After service, couple of colleges and advanced engineering degee, Electrical, I spent 30 years in aerospace electronics.
Have remained reasonably active as a Ham, KL7AFB, and K7GLT. Hold advanced class amateur, 2nd class telegraph, and 1st class telephone. The latter two licenses have been dumbed down to T, and General Class respectively. Retired now - advocation is Commercial Pilot, and Flight Instructor.
I am active on 40 meters CW and live in Arizona, USA.
Self employed as a GA instructor pilot KDVT.
Equipment
Icom IC-745, running about 100 Watts, CW, on 40 meters. Antenna is a 1/4 wave dipole.
