Biography

HELLO TO ALL,

I am a retired electrical engineer, 61 years old as of March 2012. I was first licensed in 1965 and have been active in ham radio ever since. I live in Slidell, Louisiana, USA, located near the Gulf of Mexico 40 km NE of New Orleans. In addition to amateur radio my other interests are fishing, hunting, gardening, Louisiana cooking, my grandchildren, agronomy, and marine acoustics (subbottom profiling).

My town is named after John Slidell who was the Confederate ambassador to France during the American Civil War (1861-1865). He founded the town in Louisiana and later went west and founded another Slidell in Texas (near Dallas).
