Biography

I'm located in Beaumont, Texas about 90 miles east of Houston and 30 miles from the Gulf. I was first licensed as a commercial second class technician in 1975 and then licensed in 1976 as a Amateur Technician while stationed at Kelley AFB, San Antonio, Tx. Before leaving for Germany I upgraded to General class. I was in Germany for two years and operated as DA1QL while doing mobile/combat communications work. From there I went to Korea and operated the Air Force Mars station from 1979 to 1980 and also operated as HL9VB. I used the Collins 11 element Log Periodic, Collins 30S1 and the Yaesu Twins and Heath HW101 tnxcvr on 20 and 40 meter bands. I maintained the comm squad. communications as well as the Mars equipment. After returning to the states in 1980 I tested for and received my Advanced class license. I've worked in the communications industry with Straugn Electronics ( Motorola SC), Gulf States Utilities, now Entergyand presently Kinder Morgan Inc., gas pipeline company as a communications field engineer/technician. Recently, at Belton Hamfest 2005, I tested for and received my Extra class license and now operating HF with a long wire, 80-6M delta loop, StepIR MKIII and Gap Titan vertical antenna. However, my first love is VHF/UHF SSB and I have made many contacts operating from three continents and four countries using various equipment over the years. I service and maintain various communications equipment and enjoy homebrewing. If I have worked you on the bands, please QSL if you need my state, county or grid. I don't look for confirmation but return QSL 100%. Many thanks.
