Biography

Retired mechanical engineer. But with my electronics background as a ham, I spent a lot of time designing and re-designing printed circuit boards. Have been licensed ham since 1955. I like to work 17 and 20 meters. I like to experiment building antennas.

Equipment

Yaesu FT857D powering a Yaesu ATAS120 screwdriver antenna. FT8800 VHF/UHF rig powering a dual band roof mounted antenna. All installed in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. I do not run a lot of power. My HF rig is usually set to no more than 50 watts. The big boys can blow me away but I still have a lot of fun.
I also have a VX-7R handheld that I carry in bad weather.
