Biography

Licensed since 1958, when I was a Freshman at Hillyer College (now the University of Hartford).
1962-67 U.S. Navy, Communications Officer, USS Chemung and Fire Control Officer USS Valley Forge. Served off the coast of South Viet Nam 1964-66. Retired USNR-R as CDR Naval Intelligence Officer.
1968 Married in New Britain, CT.
1968-1991, Underwriting of Property and Commercial Auto with Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, then Providence, R.I.
1992-2002 Home Office Underwriting Administration, National Grange Mutual Ins. Co in Keene, NH.

Have enjoyed ham radio since 1958, and today chase DX, IOTA, and prefixes. I have confirmed all DXCC countries except P5.)

I am currently (2012) the awards editor for CQ MAGAZINE, and write a monthly column about awards/certificates.

While I don't actually use LOTW, I guess I'll be learning more about it when I am working with the ARRL to help them support the USA-County Award. This award is one of the CQ series which will take advantage of the LOTW in the near future. (Written on June 1, 2012).

My website is http://www.dxawards.com where my goal is to list the rules of every award in the world. Yes, that is impossible, but fun to try. Look it up at:
http://www.dxawards.com .

Enjoy almost all contests.
