Biography

Hello @all,
thanks for looking me up. Born in 1962, I got the novice class E license in June 2015 (at the HAM-Radio fair in Friedrichshafen,
which is only 70 minutes by car) with my first call DO7TP. After upgrading to class A in Feb. 2016 I got my new call: DL8AZ.
So call me a quite old Rookie.wink

Located in the south-west corner of Germany nearly exactly in the middle between Stuttgart (Germany) and Zurich (Switzerland).
3 km north from the well known upper Danube-valley, 38 km east from the black forest and 30 km north from the lake of Constance, at the so called Swabian Alb.

My favourite DX location for portable operation is just 5 minutes by car from my home on a hill 860 m (2800 feet) asl without any manmade noise.

Allways experimenting with lightweight portable Antennas (see list of my antenna farm below).

Several holiday-style DX-peditions to Mallorca-island as EA6/DL8AZ (2016, 2017),
and Maldives Islands as 8Q7AZ in 2017,

Hope to meet you soon on the bands. 73 de Rolf
