Biography

QSL info: 2-way QSO via Bureau, e-QSL or direct (please enclose 1 valid IRC); SWL reports via direct only (e-QSL also).

CX2ABP is Rodolfo Tizzi, born in Montevideo in august 14th, 1965. I live in the neighbourhood of La Blanqueada, near the downtown of Montevideo. My work is in education: I' m History teacher in several colleges since 1988.

Broadcasting and utility DX-er since september 1979, my first call in the beginnigs of the 90's was CX2ABO, active only in 10 meter band. Since september 20, 2005, with the new call CX2ABP, active in all ham bands (TX & SWL).

For HF I have a Yaesu FT-817 (since july 2013) and a Kenwood TS-50 with two antennas: inverted "V" monoband for the 40mb, and A99 "Solarcon" (USA made) for 10-15-17-20mb. The microphones are Yaesu MH-31, Kenwood MC-60 and the and TS-50 original (MC-47). For VHF/UHF and APRS I work with a fixed station Kenwood TM-D710 (APRS/FM) and Kenwood TR-9000 (10w, SSB/FM) with a OPEK UVS-300 and a mobile station with a Yaesu FT-5100 in my car.

Alternative location in weekend house is 34°46.32'S 55°24.52'W (GF25hf) with the call CX2ABP/D.

I worked all modes in phone and some digital like PSK31 and SSTV. I have several live SSTV cams running (for 2, 15, 20, & 40mb) in my site at http://qsl.net/cx2abp/. I am an active user of WSPR, the amazing program of QRP and QRPP beacons in HF. Take a look on http://wsprnet.org for more info.

I have a lot of interests, like the history and the radio (of course!), but many others as the classic cinema (1895 to 1930), the vintage postcards, the old tape-reel decks, chill out and house music, Linux & similar penguins, cool photographers, and many, many more.

I'm also a "power-user" of PC's since a few years. I was get my first computer in 1992 (the Spectrum 128 made in England), and I work at this moment with Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) as a base system.

No problem for the QSL-card, 100% reply. SWL reports are always welcome via buro or direct (please enclose 1 valid IRC). I am also an active SWL since 1979 (CXA-013-SWL) with 72 entities confirmed in broacasting, ham and utility between 1979 and 2005.

WSPR fans: I do not confirm WSPR spots as a QSO's. Only SWL reports are valid for me in this mode. I suggest you to generate a new account in eqsl.cc showing your call and the SWL condition (like CX2ABP/SWL or so). Many thanks for understanding.
