Biography

Hi and 73!

I´m an Portuguese class 1 (Extra Class) ham operator with full privileges and no restrictions active in all HF, VHF, UHF, SHF and EHF microwave ham frequency bands.

My interest areas in the radioamateur world operations are all phone modulations DX modes, CW, digital modes, SSTV, ATV, meteor scatter, Moon reflection (Moon Boucing EME), satelites, amateur radioastronomy and im active in all that areas.

At this moment im transmiting in HF bands with Kenwwod TS-870, Kenwood TS-450S and Yaesu FT-857D. Conected to these transceivers i have my 8 HF bands (from 6 meters to 40 meters including WARC) home made cat´s mustache fan dipole, a set of 6 half wave length dipoles conected to the same feed line with a balun 1:1 installed inside of the attic (loft) with 10x10 meters and 2.5 meters tall of a building with 3 floors high.

Other huge passion i have its in amateur radioastronomy. Im an amateur radio astronomer working the fade received radio signals of the sun and the Low and Short A and B level radio bursts of jupiter´s magnetosphere, meteor scatter, electrical lightnings of all around the world, amateur SETI in the hydrogen line and also scattering the hydrogen line cosmic background noise radiation in the microwave region of RF spectrum.

My actual project is one of the more hard to achieve from all radio astronomy projects i´ve been done: The reception with an home made radiotelescope for the 10 Ghz RF spectrum region to receive pulsars RF emissions. (the construction of this receiver with the cooled compressed freon gas low noise -7º celsius with a 3200 Kelvin temperature 20 dB´s pre-amplifier and parabolic dish are actually in working progress.)

The parabolic dish will be actually 2 reflectors (one main and a second concave ellipsoidal reflector gregorian system to achieve an aperture gain eficiency over 70%).

I will finish it in the next 2 moths i hope :) Maybe i will test "the first light" of this new radiotelescope lestening to the beating of the pulsars in March or April of this 2013 year :)

At the same time i am doing this radiotelescope receiver, i´m gathering some schematics to start to build a QRP transmiter with 1 watt e.i.r.p. power for the kilometric band (2222 meters) to work from 135.7 to 137.8 Khz frequency on CW, QRSS (for the very slow CW to extract with a computer sound card and special software characters from below the audible noise floor) and 200 HZ narrow band digital modes.

Imagine the head hake construction for the antenna to work on this band!!! :)

I build all my systems at 21 years.

My last three electrical homebrew circuit projects i´ve done were the satelite interface tracking device, a receiver for the 15 meters band with GasFet pre amplifier of 20 dB´s to receive the very fade signals from the jupiter´s magnetosphere as well sun proton emissions and a VLF receiver for the kilometric RF spectrum region to receive the radio signals from all the lightnings around the world.

My 3 last antennas i´ve been built were the Cat´s mustache fan dipole, an antenna to work in the 10,15,17,20 and 40 meters HF band also 6 meters with the 3rd harmonic of the 17 meters dipole element installed inside the attic (loft) with an area of 10X10 meters square and 2.5 meters tall of an 3rd floor building, a portable dual band VHF UHF yagi with 6 elements for satelite field operation with portable VHF UHF dual band transceivers with a relative gain of 8 dBi in UHF and 6 dBi in VHF and an umbrella parabolic dish with 3 meters diameter (20 dBd) for the amateur SETI to work in the 1.4Ghz spectrum region.

Pse more infos and pictures about me and my station and all activities in radioamateur world including all the antennas electrical circuits and home made radiotelescopes i build pse go to qrz.com.
