Biography

Hi, welcome to my personal page :)

I have always been fascinated by the radio world. I remember, as a young kid, spending hours sitting in front of a huge (in my memory it is really huge.... but maybe it is because I was really a little kid) grandfather's SW radio watching the glowing tubes and listening to that strange voices coming out from the speaker.

Later, in late 70's, I became an active operator in the CB. At that time CB was really a hot band, all channels were always full of people chatting, making funny noises, putting music, sending carriers (for roman speaking people: ....'na camboggia!!!).... indeed there was a lot of QRM, but it was a lot of fun too!!

In 1992 I decided to move on and I got my class A licence, but - since life happens when you are busy making other plans - at time I never got a callsign and, consequently, I have never been on-air.

After many years of travelling and moving, including three years spent in Madrid, at last I settled down in a nice warm city on the seaside just 60 km north of Rome, and decided that it was definitely time to make a use of that old dust covered licence.

In early 2016 I got my callsign...... a long travel and, definitely, a winding path but at last, after 24 years, since february 28th I am on air (I think I could be defined as a NOS HAM).

I started being active both on digital modes (PSK31, PSK63, JT65, JT9 and RTTY) and phone and I'm having a lot of fun!!.

I am member of the following clubs:
•European PSK Club (EPC) #25010
•Digital Modes Club (DMC) #8195
•30 metres Digital Club (30MDG) #7393
•Podxs070 #2264
•Italian Digital Modes Club PSKtrentunisti (CIMDP) #423
•Italian HAM sailors (ARMI) #MI1287

My preferred way of QSLing is via eQSL.cc. At the moment I do not use paper QSL.

My log will be uploaded here, on www.hrdlog.net, on QRZ.com, on eQSL.cc, on clublog.org, and on LoTW.

I also own the SWL callsign IZ0101SWL.

When I am not behind the shack riding radiowaves I sure am behind my drumset making huge noi..... ehm, making music.

I also love to enjoy different hobbies: horseriding in the lovely Santa Marinella surroundings, playing different musical instruments (i love the saxophone) and flying beneath the clouds...... of course without an engine ;)

Alternatively, when I have some spare time, I also work :)
