Biography

Licensed since early 80s as DG9RAB and later obtained also US call KF4WHP.

Late 80s early 90s was very active on OSCAR 10 and OSCAR 13. In 1991 I donated Satellite Communication equipment to BY1PK in Beijing P.R. China and believe was the first foreign HAM in China catching OSCAR13 from BY1PK.

Now mainly active on 40/20, 17 and 15m. Love JT65, FT8, Olivia and BPSK. Especially JT65 and just recently FT8 opens a new valve to reach all continents with low output power and a simple Dipole. After almost 40 years active on the bands the behaviour of some radio amateurs has somehow significantly deteriorated. Hence, I am more addicted to digital operating modes that offer higher Ethics and Operating Procedures for the Radio Amateur.
