Biography

In September 2005 I got my M3 callsign and in March 2007 my 2E0 callsign.

I like the VHF side of radio . I have recently become interested in MF frequencies and HF activation. I sometimes go out and do SOTA and have fun climbing hills although tiring, it is fun to walk in the hills. But I do not drag the 897 up a hill, as the power lead can not go that far. I have the 817 for that.

For some reason I like Yaesu. Yes it has some critics out there saying they are "too deaf" or "too expensive". But that can be said to any hobby. I just like Yaesu. I have owned an Alinco DR-605 VHF/UHF radio. It was quite good but not as good or as versitile as the Yaseu range is. I even owened a Icom Tri Band H/T for a while. Not as good as the VX-7 H/T in my opinion. Felt too bulky and it did not seem to sit right within my hand as the VX-7 did. Guess I am picky in choosing radios.

I use Fldigi for all data modes. It can be troublesome when it suddenly decides to turn itself off when someone returns your TX and you end up losing that contact. But in all it serves the radio and my needs quite well.

Become recently interested in PSK and Hellschrieber as data modes.

My favourite modes within PSK is PSK-63, PSK125 and if lucky PSK 250C6 if I feel up to annoying others with multiple PSK streams on their waterfall hihi.

Also like Hellscrieber mode. Feld Hell and Hell 80 are fun. Although Slow Hell does allow me to TX, go to make a cup of tea and come back when the CQ call is nearly finishing.

I use to teach martial arts in Dewsbury on a part time basis. As a keen martial arts instructor I gained my second black belt in December 2008 and my third in 2011 in Bujinkan ninpo taijutsu. Also gained my third so watch out hihi

Please send all cards to me direct if sending a QSL card. It is better than waiting for cards from a sub manager. One day I will get round to writing out the QSL cards to send off to people. Until then, I am just enjoying the radio.

Hopefully I will see your PSK or Feldhell on my screen sometime. Or maybe, just maybe, I will go higher up and actually talk on the HF bands. Until then, I will just keep pressing the buttons for PSK.

73 for now and have a good day.
