Biography

Ham radio since 2000, had transceivers for VHF/UHF only until 2022, having an all-mode tranceiver now. It's a whole new world! Before I had only receive capabilities with an SDR.

So now I'm making my first contacts in HF, starting with 10 meters, with a homemade 1/4 wave vertical antenna, homemade. I will soon (hopefully!) build a multiband dipole for 6, 10, 20, 40 and 80m.

For VHF and UHF I also have another homemade 1/4 wave vertical antenna, and an X-200.

I also maintain, since 2013:

- one receiver for AIS (ship's Automatic Identification System) built with a cheap RTL2832U-820T conneced to a dipole on roof and a linux desktop with aisrx.

- one receiver for ADSB (aicraft's Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) with another RTL2832U-820T connected to a very small quarter wave groud-plane on roof and the same linux desktop with dump-1090.

Best regards, 73!
